— Context
In western societies, 1 out of 10 women is suffering from endometriosis*. This condition takes many forms and, as of today, cannot be cured. In practice, this translates into years of waiting for a diagnosis, women not taken seriously, feeling misunderstood, and left without any solutions. At the same time, the pain continues month after month. I am one of those women, which is why this project feels close to my heart.
— Problem
Unfortunately, I am not a scientist that can come up with a cure, but I can build a tool that helps women feeling more in control.
CHALLENGE
How might we help women with
endometriosis to manage their condition, so that they live a better life and feel supported?
— Solution
After deep learning from women at different stages and types of endometriosis, I designed an app that aims at helping these women in their day-to-day. The outcome is a prototype consisting of three main flows that serve our two personas, the endogirls.
Elena was recently diagnosed with a light to medium endometriosis. She needs an easy way to track, learn and follow-up on her symptoms.
Joris has severe endometriosis and undergone surgeries. She has many doctor's appointments and needs an accessible way to store all her documents and medical history.
#1 Log symptoms & self diagnose
#2 Store and share documents
#3 Onboarding & keep period tracking history
